5 Keys to monetize your digital community from scratch

If you want to learn how to monetize a website or your social networks, you must understand what a digital community is and how you can get the most out of it.

Even before thinking about making money from your site, you should first think about how to add value to your users, in such a way that you establish a long-term relationship with them.

So your first task will be to build a digital community that is willing to consume your content, that trusts you and finally wants to buy your products and services.

And how to achieve this? Creating quality, authentic content that adds value to your users.

What is a digital community?

Your digital community consists of the people who follow you on different platforms; such as social networks, databases of people who subscribe, and people who find you in search engines.

When it comes to monetizing your social networks or a website, it is important that you know how to exploit the power of your database.

In other words, you must know how to use intelligently and respectfully the personal information given to you by those people who are interested in your content, information, products and services.

What is a digital community? It is basically a database with information such as emails, names, social network profiles and even the phone number of who subscribes to your website.

This is why when creating your digital community, when you request an email, you should not only worry about increasing the list of contacts in Excel, but you should also ensure its quality.

1. Create a database with your followers

As we mentioned, the first step is to create a database. This consists of creating a digital community to which you can send your most important content, products and announcements.

A database, or digital community, goes beyond a simple email (as many think), since an email as such does not tell you anything.

If you don’t know what that person likes or what topics they are interested in, it will be difficult to monetize your online community, regardless of your topic or web traffic.

2. Focus on the quality of your community and not the quantity

The quality of your digital community, or database, is not a job you do once and for all. It is a job that you must be doing constantly.

While quantity is important, I would believe that quality is more influential when it comes to making money online.

It is preferable to have 100 emails that are always aware of your content, and not 200,000 emails from people who do not know what you do, and where you do not understand what they want.

4. Send content that adds value

You cannot think of making money online if you are not generating content that is of value, that people enjoy consuming, and that does not provoke being shared.

The best way to maintain the quality of your database, and community in general, is to create content that is of value to your audience.

If you generate content that improves the lives of the people who read it, you will surely have a much larger digital community. hooked, and therefore, with higher income for you.

When you identify the type of content that your audience enjoys consuming, that’s when you build a profitable online business, because you already know what they want to read, what they need and how they need it.

5. Be authentic with your digital community

The value that stands out and is most recognized within digital communities is authenticity. There is no use copying what other people are doing, and expecting different results.

If people decided to give their information so that you communicate with them, make sure you show yourself as you are, adding value from your perspective, sharing your values ​​and vision of life.

When you show yourself authentic, people connect with you much more easily, this generates empathy and you can create a connection that goes beyond a website on the Internet.
