Discipline in a company is not a luxury but a necessity. It’s not like you have it if you want it, but you have to have it if you’re genuinely interested in the success of your business. So read on that your discipline will spread to the rest.
It is very likely that you have already read our first two articles or levels. And if you don’t remember, I’ll refresh it for you:
We’ve already studied the first two, so if you haven’t read them, you should. But not everything is disciplined because if the rest of your team, the majority… isn’t, your business, your company in general, will be undisciplined and fail!
Discipline in a company – A level not to be neglected
As I just said, we cannot stop disciplining ourselves. Because although you are an important part of the company, you do not make it up as a whole. And this point becomes even more important as our business grows, because they start to rely less on us and start to rely entirely on good teamwork.
So don’t ask for a large work team if you’re not willing to work for a neat and disciplined team at first. If you infect your team with good behavior, limit yourself to working alone or having a large undisciplined team.
Discipline in a company – A level where there are no shortcuts
Just like stage two, you can’t infect your work team if you don’t understand what discipline means to begin with. And of course if you are not disciplined either. And it is that no one can give or spread what he does not have. It is therefore imperative to discipline yourself (read the second level). So there are no shortcuts, you have to learn what it means to be disciplined, to be like that, and then you will be able to infect your people.
I’m already disciplined How can I have a disciplined team? How can discipline be lived in a company?
If you have a company, business…or any other type of business where you pay your work team, you have a huge advantage. And it’s going to sound a little cruel, but it has a certain “power” over them. You pay him to make things right. Something that’s a little harder when they’re a volunteer work team. So I take advantage of this and share the first and second points.
No law, no illegality or indiscipline Where are the rules?
Unfortunately, it is so. Therefore, the first thing you need to do is make a list of your company’s standards and rules. Although this is very clear in the contract, it is necessary to remind yourself of this from time to time. But don’t even think about hiring a person without making the accounts clear. It also connects to what we’ve learned from the start about the importance of discipline.
Make it very clear that there are duties to be fulfilled, because that is what they are for
Always ask your team with decency and love ahead to follow the rules and be disciplined. This is part of the instructions, but it is not the same as the previous point. Because what I’m trying to get you across here is to remind your team that it’s a duty, not necessarily a favor. Make it clear that they have been called to perform a role, which is why the company is responsible for fulfilling their part (payment) and they have an obligation to fulfill theirs.
But everything is a dictatorship? – Don’t forget to teach
Of course not. It’s not about being a dictator, we’re just getting the bill straight. And lest the team think you’re a dominant lunatic and you really have the discipline in a company, remind them that despite the obligation, they must do it voluntarily because it suits them. Remind him that behaving correctly as part of your team will bring him benefits such as good experiences, new knowledge, will allow him to level up, which means he will acquire new knowledge, etc.
Remind them that discipline is success. Not only your company, but also their personal success. This undoubtedly calms the waters that could be churned up with the previous point also required.
Remind your team that you are human too
Since it is assumed that you are already a good example, or at least aspire to be, of a disciplined team (discipline in a company), it is very likely that they will think that you are not human. It’s very likely that they think you don’t have those temptations, that you don’t like sleeping late, that you don’t love to rest and don’t like to work… and that’s where comments like “He can, but I can’t”.
You must make it clear that the same thing is happening to you, only that you have learned something about self-restraint or self-restraint. If you tell them this, the mentality of many will undoubtedly change, because they will see from the example (you) that despite laziness and other things, there is a way out of being disciplined: self-control!
Reprimands, punishment… you can’t miss it!
I’ll go back and repeat, it’s not about being a dictator. But there is hardly any discipline when someone is undisciplined and sees no consequences. That’s why you have to put a heavy hand on it. You shouldn’t feel guilty about correcting someone when they’ve been warned.
It is also not valid for you to ignore the indiscipline of certain people close to you (friends, family, etc.). This will discourage you morally from blaming another person and the company will be a complete disaster.
Let the discipline begin!
… Because this is where the success of your company begins. If you haven’t read all three levels, you should. Besides these, there are other articles that will interest you, so keep visiting us. Nothing to add
A hug! Until next time!
