For the second year in a row, the High Commissioner for the Spanish Entrepreneurship Nation promotes the Entrepreneurial Education Weekan initiative to bring the educational community and innovative entrepreneurship closer together. Entrepreneurship Education Week takes place from 24th to 28th January and has the support of the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Universities; and collaboration between innovative entrepreneurship and educational institutions.
This theme week is celebrated as part of the International Day of Education on January 24th. After the good reception of the first edition, attended by more than 50 companies, Entrepreneurship Education Week returns to promote entrepreneurship in education.
under your goals they recognize the key role of education and teaching in the quality of innovative entrepreneurship; promote entrepreneurial skills for the jobs of the future; stimulate interest in jobs steam (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) and courses related to entrepreneurship; and bring the experiences of innovative entrepreneurship closer to the educational centers in their various stages.
As part of this celebration, the High Commissioner, Francisco Polo, will attend the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the IESE Business School, two educational centers that promote education related to entrepreneurship. He will also visit a startup in the education sector.
On the other hand, public institutions EOI Y ENISA, attached to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism; the Biodiversity Foundation, affiliated with the Department for Environmental Transition and the Demographic Challenge; and INCIBE and Red.es, affiliated to the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, will participate in the week to promote Spain’s digital transformation, innovative entrepreneurship, the green economy and their work deploy employment and cybersecurity.
In this edition, various representatives of the innovative entrepreneurship and education community will participate in the week by organizing activities related to entrepreneurship education. Communities like Alcobendas, Fuenlabrada or Seville and numerous educational institutions, from universities to business schools to accelerators, celebrate with them.
Entrepreneurship in the service of education
In the words of Francisco Polo “With this initiative we want to bring the educational community and innovative entrepreneurship closer together. We must put innovative entrepreneurship at the service of education and that both work together to spark vocations, enhance skills and create the jobs of the future. Spain is becoming a haven for talent thanks to the building of the entrepreneurial nation with the greatest social impact in history.”
The Minister of Education for her part pilar joy, Referring to Entrepreneurship Education Week, he states: “We are transforming education and training in our country to provide a door to quality jobs for young people. Entrepreneurship and innovation need to be close to classrooms and training centers to facilitate the development of student talents and vocations.
It is also important to make profiles visible that help us to arouse interest in certain professions. And we’re also doing that with sectors like science and technology, known as STEAM, to bridge the gender gap that’s emerging in these studies. We need to make visible the work and talent of many women who are succeeding and thriving in our country.”
