After much thought and some conversations about digital entrepreneurship in Spain, Vicente Fenoll had an idea that he tried to realize: create a marketplace of financial services. Although the idea sounded very strange at first, this Mexican entrepreneur managed to put together the necessary pieces to take it forward and so it was born. Kubo.Finance.
“I was in Madrid and Wayra was launched right there. It was an event of 1,500 young people using the internet and I was impressed to see these guys. The talks there explained How do I start an internet based business?at that moment I “clicked” and asked myself to create a platform for people-to-people lending,” commented Fenoll, current CEO of Kubo.Financiero.
This online platform that connects people who need a loan with potential investors, broke with the traditional model of the financial world by matching needs with possible credit solutions. “You can apply for a loan for anything you want: education, business expansion, remodeling your home. All you have to do is apply on the platform and fill out a loan application form,” he said. Alicia Ortizresponsible for the company’s Special Services division.
Kubo.Financiero still has a long way to go but is already making huge strides in a highly competitive world like finance. In fact, it’s the only platform crowdfunding with operating license from the Sociedad Financiera Popular de Méxicowhich in turn is regulated by the National Banking and Securities Commission, which has enabled it to grow faster and solidify itself as the leading online lending platform in the region.
This is the story of Kubo.Financiero told by its protagonists:
