Remember that fostering entrepreneurship in children helps them become smarter, more aware and more independent.
I will explain it to you:
– What is School Entrepreneurship?

– What are the advantages of school entrepreneurship?
– And I’ll give you 10 ideas to do from school.
To start, I would like to share with you the stories of some young people who have shown that they were born with the entrepreneurial gene. You are really inspirational!
They have made fortunes and learned to be visionaries.
Before we start I want us to organize some ideas. We have two terms that we need to understand:
- What is school entrepreneurship?
- And what is a micro company?
The first term is the focus of this article and I will explain it to you in detail. The other is microentrepreneurship and we’ve already explored it in another article, so I invite you to check it out.
Here I leave the link:

Now that you know what micro businesses are, no problem! You can continue reading this article. Let’s not waste time and get started!
What is school entrepreneurship?
School Entrepreneurship is the initiative that a student can have, with the support of school institutions, to create projects and put them into practice, thus showing his skills, talents … Encouraging his peers to get involved too.
When a school encourages this type of entrepreneurship, it is really trying to discover the high potential of its students (which many of them don’t realize).
That clear? It’s simple, school entrepreneurship is any creative activity…innovation with a product or service…anything that aims to meet a need that arises or develops in the school environment.
Benefits of School Entrepreneurship:
We already know what school entrepreneurship is. But what are the advantages of this type of entrepreneurship? Let’s see! There are many, but I will be very general and divide them into two groups.
1.- A gain for the student:
School Entrepreneurship manages to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit of the students.
She wants him to open his mind, believe in himself more and be a fearless person looking for solutions to whatever is in front of him.
But why is it good for the student? Well, because it gives you the necessary tools to start your own business and achieve your goals. In addition, they gain experience in the work environment at a young age, they do not remain in theory!
2.- And of course a good for the school institution:
Many schools not only do good things for their students, but also use their entrepreneurial skills and practices to leave a positive legacy for the institution. How can they do that?
Tangible assets: Some economic advantages could be generated in the practice of entrepreneurship of the students. This will no doubt become assets for the institution. Especially in disadvantaged sectors where institutions lack resources.
Insights: Sometimes entrepreneurship is contagious. Suddenly, when a student engages and achieves good results, others are encouraged and join the group. Over time, this creates an avalanche of knowledge in the institutions, learning not only the students but all the staff (teachers), and although the students leave, professionals stay with new knowledge to pass it on. A corporate culture emerges!
Is it understood? Now we come to what may be most important to you: ideas for microentrepreneurship at school!
10 ideas for micro businesses at school:
Do you already know what microenterprise is? Well, it’s about starting a business that requires little investment and in which the working team consists of you and some partners (optional).
It doesn’t have to be a lot of people involved! And in most cases no employees are needed (again, you take care of that yourself).
That’s why I wanted to share ideas about microentrepreneurship. It’s about viable projects versus bigger business ideas.
But on another occasion we’ll talk about slightly bigger projects, okay?
Without further ado, I leave you with the following school entrepreneurship ideas:
1.-Book Marking:
This is a wonderful idea from School Microenterprise. Not only because it’s easy and inexpensive to make, but also because it blends in very well with the school environment. I’m sure many students and teachers need a bookmark!
2.-Commentators:
Notepads are another product that you can market that fits in very well with the school environment. All you have to do is be creative and play with the offers, for example offer a combination of two pens and a notepad!
3.-Portraits:
Although not very geared towards the school environment, it is a very good idea for micro-entrepreneurship. Portraits are used by most people and I’m sure more than one will want to buy. If you make them from recyclable material that would be great.
4.-Newly decorated pens:
When we talk about school entrepreneurship, this cannot be overlooked: who doesn’t write with pens? We all need them! From the students to the teachers.
But to give it a touch of style and variety, we can buy and decorate the pins so that they would attract more attention!
5th line notebooks:
From products to services, we have a great idea for micro-entrepreneurship in schools and that is notebook covers.
You may not sell notebooks very well, but if you know how to cover and decorate them well, you can offer that service.
Why offer it as a service and not a product? Although you could offer it as a product (buy a notebook, cover it and sell it), it may be cheaper to offer it as a service…
This way you would not have to invest a lot of money in buying notebooks, instead the customer brings them to you and you take care of the lining and decorating.
If you combine selling the product with the service that would be great too.
6.-Training workshops for parents:
It’s another phenomenal service Who says you, as a student, have nothing to teach an adult?
I’m sure there are many students whose knowledge they can share. For example, how can you support your children during school time?
You are also a student, so your opinions are worth a lot as such. You can also take the opportunity to create and market guides.
7.-Specialized Tutorials:
The classes we see in our facility are not enough. It is not because schools, high schools and universities are bad, but because there is not enough time to learn so many things that we need.
We can exploit this gap and offer our services to those people who find it difficult to understand something in class or who simply want to learn more than what is learned in class.
8.-Holiday courses:
The same as above. The only difference is that you do not reach the student as a solution for passing a subject of the current school year. Rather, you are preparing them to be strong for the upcoming school year.
If you are very good at a subject, use it. And if you’re good at an activity that’s not related to school… Offer to teach it too!
9.-Sale of food:
This is another excellent idea that you can implement with the support of your institution. Many schools offer canteen services thanks to external cooperatives. Why not found one yourself?
This is geared more to the collective benefit than to the personal one. Thus, the institution becomes independent and can generate some economic income. And why not expand to other institutions and create your own cooperative?
10.-Didactic games:
Another excellent idea in the school environment. You can wholesale educational games and offer them to the parents of the little ones in your school.
And if your entrepreneurial spirit goes even further, become an innovator and create these games yourself. Make up your mind!

And if you are a teacher, share this with your students and encourage them so that from now on they know what entrepreneurship is.
Below and to finish I leave you a short video about a school fair for micro-enterprises:
As you can see, with the support of the institution, many young people have put their ideas into practice – some may be better than others! But the most important thing is that they experience micro-entrepreneurship…
So they create habits that will lead them to success sooner or later.
