Its creator, José Manuel Baena, has collaborated at the Biomechanics Institute of Valencia on research projects related to the personalization of medical devices, laparoscopic surgery, dental implants, rapid manufacturing in healthcare and new biocompatible materials.
He then joined the Cajastur Fernando Alonso program and moved to Oxford to pursue a master’s degree in motorsport engineering. “Being there and being so close to one of the best life sciences libraries was a great help in applying my knowledge of Formula 1 to the world of healthcare,” he recalls. With the help of a partner (Pedro J. Raya) he presented his project to the IDEA agency and they participated in the Genoma España program. And so BRECA Health Care was born, which is dedicated to application technological advances from engineering to custom design and computer simulation and validation in biomedicine and biomechanics.
