It is currently only available in Madrid and to customers from 21 other municipalities in the community. The service Prime now, exclusively for Premium customers, allows you to receive the order in less than 1 hour if you add 5.9 euros to the price, or for free if you wait up to 2 hours. To benefit from it, all you have to do is download the Prime Now application and choose from tens of thousands of products, including frozen products, that the service offers from a minimum order of €19.
It is therefore an exclusive service that adapts to the time slot that is convenient for the user – from 8:00 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week – which can also track the order and see where the carrier is each Moment and calculation of the estimated waiting time.
The new service, launched in Madrid last July, does not include the entire Amazon catalogue, but only the selected items that appear in the application. Supermarket products are included as a newer theme, but the most traditional can also be purchased. Books, checks or gift cards are excluded from selection.
Bruno Vázquez-Dodero is one of those premium customers who, for the price of €20 per year, has already been able to see how Prime Now works, which he says surprises him. “I think that’s how all big e-commerce will work in a few years,” he says. As an anecdotal fact, he says the service allows you to buy a physical movie and have it at home in less than an hour, which is almost the same time it takes to download it from the internet without actually closing it own. “It’s so easy and quick, you’ll wonder how you’ve lived without it,” the Amazon ad reads.
